Re: Discovering Battles, meeting the band
My first experience with Battles was little big planet a few years ago. I loved playing that game, but whenever the level with atlas was played I immediately would turn down the volume. My friend talked highly of battles, but I thought of them as pretentious and really weird. So a few years went by and no mention of battles had occurred in quite some time until Gloss Dropp finally came out. Another friend of mine told me that the member that sang on atlas (Tyondai) had left the group and...

Re: Battles Atlas fan interview (your questions answered)
I second the Tyondai/Gloss Drop deleted parts question. Always been curious if they really deleted them and if there's an original "White Electric" take. Future EPs between records? Ian hinted at something like that, releasing music more frequently but this is Battles we're talking about.

Tyondai Braxton
This thread can be about Ty's work after Battles. If anyone has a good summary of what he's done since leaving the band, please post! Also up for debate, should this thread be in the Battles Main section? Or should I make a new section for discussion about specific members (current and ex) of the band? Anyway, here's a cool news item, Ty performed recently at ATP NYC with classical composer Philip Glass: Glass (piano) and Braxton (guitar, then synth) kept their set on the short side,...

Re: Tyondai Braxton
Tyondai is a complete dude. As a person I think he was always the nicest one in the band when he was in the band (not saying the others aren't nice...just sayin'). Anyways, to keep updated he is premiering this new multimedia project called Hive at the Guggenheim. I imagine it'll be awesome. Here's some details http://web04.echomail.com/web0...amp;mt=&e=wvnwvn ~wsrv.arg also then Alarm Will Soundwill perform his new work FLy by Wire: http://broadwayworld.com/artic...ie-Hall-46-20130304#...

Re: How do you feel about the next BTTLS record being all-instrumental?
I loved Tyondai's contribution, and I enjoyed hearing how they made due with guest artists when Tyondai left, but now I think they will be set on creating a new identity.I think it will be really interesting to see what BTTLS does now without him influencing the song structure.

My Machines With Tyondai Braxton
With there being a few recordings of an early version of the Gloss Drop song My Machines with Tyondai Braxton singing on it instead of Gary Numan, has anyone been able to decipher what Ty is singing ? Would love to know as its probably my favorite song off of Gloss Drop and the Tyondai version is a such a unique and cool take on the song before Gary Numan became the vocalist for it.
